*Duties and Responsibilities*

This position will contribute to the development of critical applications
for player acquisition and retention. This position focuses mainly on the
back end of our web applications but is involved in the entire stack. This
position is on a team using an Agile development approach, where you will
work closely with a Product Owner, and software engineering tasks are broken
out and assigned by the members of the team. The team participates in
regular reviews with stakeholders and is involved in the complete software
development life.

Responsibilities include:

   - Developing new features and maintaining existing functionality on a
   variety of Perl web applications, both internal and customer facing
   - Writing unit and integration tests, both front and back-end
   - Participating in story-boarding, planning software development tasks
   and estimating work
   - Maintaining system frameworks, configuration tools, and installation
   utilities to ensure stability and to improve release and distribution
   - Participate in research, technical discussions and prototype
   development experiments

The bulk of the work for this position is in Perl, with some SQL, HTML and
JavaScript depending on your role and skills. We will consider skilled
developers with experience doing similar work in another dynamic language
with an interest in learning Perl.

*Desired Skills and Qualifications*

   - Developing large-scale web applications involving Perl, Apache and
   Database tools in a Linux environment
   - Object-oriented problem decomposition and programming, preferably using
   Moose
   - A proven self starter that is standards and best practices driven
   - Test-driven development
   - Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
   - Effective communication and organizational skills
   - Experience with SQL a plus
   - Experience with HTML and JavaScript a plus
   - Knowledge of financial applications a plus
   - Knowledge of  internationalization and localization a plus
