hi all, oscon gave out copies of the august 2011 lunux journal magazine for swag. in browsing it i found a very good intro article on git. it actually clarified many gray areas for me like the way things are stored and how they are organized and accessed. it gets into some internal design stuff to show how it works and then covers basic usage and such. but understanding the design helped me a lot (note to steve - teach that!). anyhow, it isn't online yet and won't be free for a couple of months after that (from what i can see on that site). so look for it when it comes online.
