Bah, humbug, Steven. Actually, Valentines day is an ancient pagan holiday dating back a couple millenia in northern Europe. Much like Christmas, which has similar roots, it was "embraced and extended" by Christians - and only recently by western consumer society.
So don't feel bad about celebrating Valentine's day. I actually like buying flowers. It's fun. Knowing it's origins helps me to ignore all the commercial, ahem, pressure. Ignore the social pressure at your own peril ... :-) Quoting Uri Guttman <[email protected]>: > On 02/10/2012 11:19 AM, Morse, Richard E.MGH wrote: >> On Feb 10, 2012, at 11:11 AM, Steven W.
