schwern's code uses @EXPORT and Exporter to do the actual exporting. it
could also be modified to take a list of key/val pairs so you could call
it like:
econst FOO => 1,
BAR => 2 ;
but it does the job that greg wants. again, it could be put into a
module if that doesn't exist in that form. the one i found (which is
mentioned in that post) looks clunkier to me in style.
