*Topic*: Round-table *Time*: 7:00pm – 9:00pm *Where*: JITSI (url tba shortly before meeting on Calendar <https://boston.pm.org/bpm/Calendar#Next_Meeting> ) *Who*: all of us This Boston Perl Monger's meeting doesn't have a scheduled speaker, so instead we'll use the time to see what members have been up to and open the floor for discussion of anything Perl-related. If you have a lightning topic to present this month, you are welcome to do so, and as always we welcome speakers for future meetings. We have a few topic ideas in mind for next month and are in the process of contacting potential presenters. Volunteers for half or full presentations are still welcome! We will use the Jitsi Meet service. (*If you need to hear my rant about why Zoom’s “fixes” are inadequate, ask me off-list*.) Jitsi is a Free/Libre OSS project sponsored by 8x8 (an Atlassian spin-off). It is the freemium base for their added-value corporate meeting & VOIP platform. As FLOSS, it can be self-hosted; they provide a free demo server. We will currently be using the free demo server, but may migrate to a hosted server (where we can set defaults, privileges). Natick FOSS group has a *4-page Jitsi Help .pdf file <http://www.millermicro.com/FOSSUserGroupJitsi.pdf>*, and you can practice beforehand. (They meet 1st Thursdays, online) *Update *to file ^ : Firefox latest versions 78+ support multicast, so are safer than before? Chrome/Chromium/FF78+ *supposdely *all plausible now. One can use plain web mode, but if you can install the browser plug-in if you like. There are also iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android apps which work well.
