next meeting Monday 3/13

Hi all: The next meeting of HSA is scheduled for next Monday 1/13.  On the agenda is a follow up/further action discussion re the content we heard last month on anti-immigration efforts underway in the legislature and likely as a ballot initiative this fall.  If passed, these efforts may directly impact the ability of nonprofits to serve our clients, not only undocumented but also documented since all have to be screened. We also need to discuss the leadership of HSA, elect a new chair (anyone interested?), discuss Jane’s role as secretary and whether governmental reps can be on the executive committee. I would also like an updated report from Joan Chartrand re membership and bank balance.  Will there be enough $$ to contribute to any issue campaigns this fall? If we have time, a discussion of strategic goals for the year would be helpful for planning upcoming meetings.  In particular, I think we need to figure which organizations have taken action on the HSA policies, what are our goals for the website, and the possibility of creating “report cards” in each of our areas of interest for use by government officials, ala the Movement for Children’s yearly report card.  Perhaps someone involved with that project could attend the meeting and let us know how that process works.
