A Call for Volunteers for a Hotline On May 16, 2006, the City Council of
the city of Boulder agreed to partially fund a Hotline Pilot Project, a joint
venture of Boulder Community United (BCU), Shoulder2Shoulder, Moving to End
Sexual Assault (MESA), and the Safety Net Project of the Rocky Mountain Peace
and Justice Center (RMP&JC). The Hotline Pilot Project will provide resource
and referral services to victims and witnesses of profiling and other bias
related incidents. The Hotline Pilot Project will be a
confidential, bi-lingual/multi-lingual service for victims and/or witnesses. The
Hotline Pilot Project will provide immediate assistance and appropriate
referrals serving residents of any age in the Volunteers Needed for
an Advisory Council We seek a diverse group of people who
represent a range of experiences: a. People
who have been victims of incidents of hate, harassment, discrimination or
profiling. b. People
who have administrative experience with crisis hotlines. c.
Representatives of groups and agencies who might be able to provide
services. d. People
from targeted groups. e. People
with expertise, i.e. Multicultural Counseling Centers/Victim
Services. f. People with
Fundraising/Finance expertise/Interest. g. People
with public relations experience. h. People
interested in volunteering to answer the Hotline. The advisory council is responsible
for the Hotline with oversight responsibility of staff (the coordinator and
research assistant) who will run the 24-hour volunteer
