I'm afraid I really have no idea - perhaps pre-0.9.x. But really, you're missing out on a great deal in using a version that old. There are so many bugs we have fixed and so many features been added since. But if you want to give it a go, knock yourself out. Unfortunately the CHANGELOG doesn't mention explicitly dropping of 2.4 compatibility, I just remember we all agreed one day that it was not worth it anymore. Well, let me know how it goes - I really think writing a patch to make bpython 2.4-compatible would require not much work at all.
