Yes, magic syntax like this will never exist in bpython, sorry.

We solve this problem by using shortcut keys instead.

However, for the "command" functionality you mentioned, I don't see this ever
existing in bpython - bpython is a python interpreter, not a replacement for
bash, and I personally don't have any desire to add this kind of functionality.
