Terje,
We will not be releasing bpython 0.9.7 within the next two weeks. I,
for one, want to do some more improvements on GTK so that it is
feature-complete (or at the same level of the current curses
implementation) and I am not sure if Andreas and Bob want to see more
stuff available. When that is done a 0.9.7 release will surely follow.
GTK currently misses (most notably), the view-source option and
keyboard shortcuts for the menu options (paste, paste selection, view
source, save to file). There are also some minor issues like
colorization of the docstrings and some bugs in the completion
combined with Python 2.6 we are working on.
In the meantime you could package 0.9.6.2 or is there another reason
why you wait for 0.9.7?
You could

Simon

Hi Terje (and the mailinglist),
I have fixed your issue in my latest commit in tip. I can now run
bpython when I create a panel entry for bpython-gtk. Maybe you can
confirm?
You can see the commit here if you are interested, but it's just
some added abstraction so that bpython.gtk_ can override what it
does when stdin is not a tty. http://bitbucket.org/bobf/bpython/changeset/7cf1adb41438/
It works with latest tip. Thanks!
I am also the maintainer of bpython package in Fedora.
We are at bpython 0.9.5.2, however users want newer bpython bits.
Will bpython 0.9.7 be released soon?
