Those aren't the only batteries which are charged. This battery is a lithium-ion, common in many cell phones, etc. Most batteries need recharging. IF you plug in this AC adapter, it will charge the battery whether you want it to or not. There are some devices into which you may plug AC adapters without affecting the battery, but brailleNote is not one of those.
