DSL/Broadband is not necessarily more expensive. Many services are now 
offering a low end version of either DSL or Cable connections for the same 
or less than you pay for the dial-up service in many cases.  Check around. 
See what your phone company offers in conjunction with your phone service or 
your cable TV service with your tv service. This often makes it more cost 
effective.
