Hi, I don't know of a method to check the status of your battery check except 
by unplugging the PK, then going into the options menu and pressing P to get 
the percentage of battery charge.  If it's not as high as you'd like it, plug 
the PK in again.  
Even if I have just plugged the PK in in order for it to begin charging, if I 
check the battery level, it will say 100%.  That's why I unplug the machine, 
wait 10 seconds or so, and then check the status.
