Well, it was a noble experiment, but the Magicstar 2.2 GB mini drive Type II didn't work in the Voicemate. I tried both its format options and it worked just fine on my PC for whatver value that might be, but when put into the rear CF slot on the voicenote it just froze everything literally until it was removed. It was like suspended animation. The system booted and got to the point of saying Card of Card inserted and just froze. When I pulled the thing out it said card removed and went on about its boot up business.And while it was in the slot you couldn't shut off power or do anything else. I don't know why a Type II device that is supposed to be to the industry standards for such wouldn't work, but the folks at Computer Geeks werent particularly surprised and I dont' doubt I can return it.
So once again I'm in the market for a good price on some good memory.
