Hello Leslie, we try very hard to make sure that a user who only uses 
Braille does not miss out on any information. Sometimes, we make the 
Braille messages a little bit shorter, but we've been told by many 
DeafBlind people that our Braille support is generally easy to use on its 
own. Although i can hear, I often use my BrailleNote without speech 
myself.
