Hello Stacy: As a part of the new MPower's ability to play back stereo and streaming, it appears that the overall speaker volume is a bit softer. Many users have commented on this. Where I was used to my speech volume being about 10 when in class, now I boost it up to around 16.
What I have noticed is that the headphone jack (Jack located closest to the front of the unit) is a lot more efficient with ear buds. I use the Phillips models. I used to have to kick the volume up to around 22 when in outdoor traffic, but now I can listen at around 14. hth Jeff Molzow
