Yes, Leslie, you have a LAN a "Local Area Network". If you are on
cable you are on a WAN "Wide Area Network". The whole Internet is a
network. It is used in many ways and it is confusing.
It is also used as a verb, an action word, and it means to connect
with other people, to network. It is called a network after a
fish net that has strings that go in all directions from a certain
point and connect other points together.
