Hello Wendy: If your sons MPower is showing connected, but is not allowing you to get email or go to websites, you may have MAC address filtering enabled on your router. MAC address filtering is basically giving the router a list of devices that are allowed to access the network (Internet). The MAC address of your son's card should be on a sticker on the bottom of the wireless card. It will be a 12 digit number usually beginning with 00. You'll have to check your router's documentation as to how to enter this information into the router.
