If you're interested in how fast you're communicating with the internet, you
might like to Ping Yahoo. Go to connectivity and look at the current
connection. At the bottom of the list of its characteristics you can check the
connection. Press Enter on that choice then when asked what address to Ping
just type in Yahoo.com and press ENTER. You should get all 4 packets back. A
good speed is 50 ms. I've gotten 160 ms and I got 41 ms just now. One of the
things we can't control is just how crowded things are on the internet and on
our service. You'll notice there are times of day when things slow down or
speed up. It's a traffic jam sure as on the freeway about 5:00 P.M. when people
use their high speed at work to get their email before they go hom, and when
the kids have done their homework and grab half an hour before dinner. Tight
times are slow times.

So If you're running unusually slowly before you clear out all your files and
reset your whole system and think about deleting what you don't use often, PING
Yahoo. OK you can ping anybody, but Yahoo is kind of a standard a lot of people
use.
