Hi, all.  Just thought I'd share how my mPower works with micro 
drives.  I have my GPS map and poi files on a Kingston 5 gig micro 
drive, and I also have a Toshiba 5 gig drive on which I have music 
files stored.  The results are the same with both drives.  If I have 
my mPower on and insert a micro drive, the unit locks up, and I have 
to do a reset (which sends me into my reset loop at this point).  To 
get the micro drives to work, I need to have the unit off, then 
insert the micro drive and then turn on the mPower.  At that point 
it's recognized as a PC card and works great.

Just some observations, for what they're worth.
