Hi, List,
Well, I've given up, for the time being, trying to cable the mPower to my Epson
LX 300. I took the mPower to the computer store where they have been so kindly
attempting to connect me, and tried an HP printer, model number 3940. This is
a fairly new model. The mPower recognized there was a printer because it said
printer ready, or printer removed if it was turned off. All settings were good
to go, but the printer did not print.
They had an HP 970 CSE printer which they used there at the store. This is an
older model. We connected it and it worked just so slick! Got a nicely printed
recipe for garbanzo bean soup!
In the KeySoft folder for printers, the file of info for HP printers indicated
that it was adapted 1 December 1998 for the Braille Companion.
I tend to think that this could definitely be the problem!
After we return from our Christmas trip back to Iowa this coming week, we will
try looking at printers in other stores. It's very time consuming and
frustrating, needless to say!
Happy holidays!
Kathy
