As far as I know, there isn't a size limit. I have several MP3s that are between 30 and 40 MB, and the media player handles them fine. It's possible that your podcasts don't have the supported sample rate or bit rate. I don't have those specs at hand, so will have to defer to someone more knowledgeable for those numbers.
