Hello James:

The absolute best way I've found to transfer files between a laptop and the
BrailleNote without using active sync, is to use a PCMCIA compact flash card
cradle or USB compact flash card reader. The cradle is a PCMCIA sized card
that you can slip your compact flash card into and then you put the whole
thing into the PCMCIA slot of your laptop. Your laptop then sees it as
another drive and you can work with files and folders from there. I think I
paid about $14 for mine at circuit city.

The USB reader is a USB attachment which you hook to your laptop and can
slip a compact flash into. I think it goes for about $20 at any office
supply store.

>From there, simply move the files from your BrailleNote onto the compact
flash and then connect that compact flash into your laptop and copy them
onto there.
