The BrailleStar is a refreshable Braille display made by Handy Tech in
Germany and marketed in this country, I believe, by HumanWare. I am
using one as I write this. It has an onboard notetaker function for
making sort of Plain Jane text notes, and it has a keypad that the user
can configure to serve as hot keys for frequently performed tasks. The
Braille display surface is concave--it's like a trough that runs across
the unit--so the Braille appears kind of down in the trough instead of
on a flat surface. It's lovely Braille and the display is very
responsive and I like it a lot.

End of paid political announcement.
