The Keynote Companion was an early 90's notetaker running KeySoft on a cute
little computer about the size of the keyboard portion of the Voicenote QTI
think.. I can measure Jay's if you need details. It had a screen that also
acted as a keyboard cover which allowed those who could to see what was
going on. It had funny little tiny keys about half the size of those on the
current voicenote qt. Its functioning was similar to today's classic devices
but lacked some of the features. I rarely used Jay's but he used to use it
to write Braille Music among other things. I know it had a word processor,
address book, and I think appointment calendar and calculator. I don't know
for sure what else. If you like I'll plug it in and see what it does in more
detail but it's basicly about a 93ish version of a notetaker running that
era's version of Keysoft. It had an external battery pack that could be
attached for portable use, and I think an external disk drive might be
around here somewhere as well. I'd guess the Braillenote Companion was a
braille keyboarded version of the same device although I never actually saw
one that I can recall.
