HI Listers: Thanks to everyone who responded to my email about MPower battery issues I am having with my new MPower, which I just received two days ago (Friday).
I did check my Bluetooth setting and it was set to NO, so that isn't the cause of the rapid battery drain I am seeing both when my MPower is not being used and when I read in braille only. I understand the anual says that the MPower battery will discharge 3-10% in 24 hours when not being used, but I am distressed that my battery is discharging at the top rate. I did hear from another braille-only MPOwer user that her battery gauge was down to 87% after using her MPOwer for 6 hours, and down to 67% when she used it another day for far longer than six hours. And my battery gauge dropped 8% in one hour when I read a book in braille (I didn't even use any search functions). If I had speech on, I would understand the 8% drop in battery gauge in one hour, but with braille only, that seems a bit too high. Or am I wrong? Since I jsut got my MPower back on friday (Nov. 25) and it had been shipped alte Wednesday aternoon (Nov. 23), I assume I have the latest software including the patch for the battery usage (?). Does anyone out there with a MPOwer have any numbers on the % of battery usage when reading a book in braille on the MPower? Thanks ... Barb P.S.
