I've had this happen from time to time. It seems to occur most often when I
have been connected to a wireless network and go out of range without
disconnecting first. This doesn't happen consistently. Sometimes I hear the
"bong", but don't get any message. As alarming as it can be, I think the "real
bell" is harmless, at least mostly.

Subject: [Braillenote] The Real Bell

Anybod remembrer the led bell for Freddie Fouey? Well, what on earth is the
"REAL BELL: I just heard from my VNQT? I was just tryig to connect to my
wireless network and the speaker let out with a bong like the bell ending the
3rd round in the big fight. Not the nice little reset chimes. And the volume
was like twice everything else I'd heard. Clang Clang Clang went the trolley?
The error message I got was to remove and retry the wireless card because
windows something or another was unable to assign an ip address. or something
like that. It went by pretty quickly. And I was overwhelmed by the clang. It
was truly alarming.
