I'm definitely not Dean--Grin!--but I can answer this one. Yes, you can use
the BrailleNote or VoiceNote and a wireless card to scan for networks. I, much
to the amusement of those who ride with me, like to scan for wireless networks
while riding to and from work. There are around fifteen networks visible to
the BN on this route, and most of them appear to be secure. It's hard to tell
though, since a car goes in and out of range of a wireless network rather
quickly.
