I would call these bank checks.  They are checks ishued from my home equity
loan bank.

I didn't mean to start a big problem on this list.  If I were going to write
a check for a purchase this large, it wouldn't be a personal check.  I'd use
a bank check.  That way the money is taken out of your account when the
check is written.  You'll have to ask your bank what it calls that kind of
check.  I can say bank check in my credit union.  That way the company has
about a year to cash it and no problems to you.  You'll have to ask what
your bank's regulations are about these checks.  Some places call them
casheer's checks.  Anyway, they're not personal checks.  You sign, and the
money is taken out right there.  As I said, I have rules about credit cards
and debit cards.  If the money isn't there, you don't use them.

Now personally, I won't jump at every upgrade.  I'll wait until Humanware is
selling the unit I want.  Why should I pay for upgrades that haven't been
tested that much? I'll just read the list about the ones who do, but as long
as my unit does what I want it to do, I don't care about having the latest
thing.
