Hi Everybody, I know that Jonathan posted on this topic a couple of days ago but have any of you been able to access the list archives? By performing a google search I see that they address a question I have about my Braille Display dying on me and I haven't been able to get in. ANYWAY, if they are not working, I'll just post my question now. My Braille display has been acting up on me. It's given me random symbols where letters are supposed to be, which it's done before but not for such an extended length of time as it has been doing recently. Then, a few days ago, all of the cells, except about two dots, rose up completely and would not go down so I decided to reset my unit. After performing a regular and then a 4-5-6 reset, it told me that system files have been updated and to do another reset, which I did. After doing so, my display went completely dead. The dots now look as they do when I turn my unit off. After trying to turn off the Braille Display, it told me that "The Braille display is not operating". While trying to exercise it numerous times, sometimes all of the dots pop up, and other times only the middle ones will completely pop up while the other ones just stay flat or come up a little bit. When I exit this mode, one of my dots takes several minutes to go down. I called tech support and they told me that I would have to send it in. Since I have to do so anyway, this shouldn't be a problem but I'm curious to see if any of you has had this problem and if you have been able to figure it out. Thanks.
