Hi Lisa:
First, how's Guam? Sounds like a place I should consider visiting or moving
to at some point in time. What kind of time zone do you have there? What
is the weather like? Is it as humid as the Midwest? Does it ever snow
there?
Now to the point you made about note takers ... without a doubt, a laptop is
less expensive in comparison to a Braille notetaker. You can, if you elect
to purchase a Dell, get a laptop for about $499 or less in most cases.
Another consideration worth looking seriously at is the type of laptop you
want. As for me, I want a Fujitsu laptop. My configuration will cost me
nearly $1900, not $6500 or there about.
On a laptop, you can get a lot of memory--up to about 1GB in most cases.
You can get a hard drive that is about 80GB. You can install third-party
software like MS Word, WordPerfect and others. You can't do this on either
the BrailleNote or BrailleSense.
I hope I helped some. If I can help any further, please do let me know. I
can arrange to help get a Dell Laptop for less. Take care and God bless!!
Sincerely,
Olusegun
