Our state always purchases one SMA with each unit. After that, you're on your own.

I don't know who your rehab is but I have always found that they DO purchase SMAs with the original purchase and the user is responsible for updates. This is at least true for two states. Along this note, does one need to register their unit in order to activate their SMA or at least link the SMA with that unit? My rehab councelor bought my unit from a third party vendor and they confirmed with me that an SMA was purchased and I just want to make sure that I have one so I'll be able to update. Does anyone know what I need to do to verify all this?
