Hi all,
I agree with Graham! Any computer one owns, and this includes the new
smart phones, has a directory structure. No computer user should be
allowed to operate a computer without understanding this most basic of
computer concepts! Thinking that BrailleNote users are too ignorant,
too stupid, or too incapable of understanding basic computer concepts
perpetuates the "just teach 'em the keystroke" method of training.
Good heavens, you can't go anywhere these days without encountering a
computer. Our voting machines are going to be computerized. Our
phones are computerized. This concept of files and folders is a
survival skill! It's *not* something that only programmers need to
understand.
I suppose you could have an option someplace in the options menu that
would cause paths to be turned on or off as the user chooses, but I'm
for assuming that a computer user should have a basic knowledge of
his/her equipment and how it functions. I'm not saying that most
users need to understand all that goes into a BrailleNote, or any
other computer for that matter, but I am suggesting that allowing and
encouraging paths to be revealed is a good thing! Oh, yeh, and BTW,
quit calling the root of the disk none. It isn't it's root!
