Hello folks, It has been disappointing to find that chatter on the list has been extremely high over the last week, with many off topic messages being sent to the list and attempts being made to argue with list members in a manner that is less than desirable. This comes at a time when I seem to recall posting a message regarding this sort of behaviour very recently. If this does not stop, members will be individually moderated and this is the final warning! As I have said many times before and I will repeat it now, we in no way, want to stifle freedom of speech but lists such as these have a set purpose and people join lists because the purpose of the list or lists in question, meets their requirements. Therefore, a hard line will be taken on off topic messages, especially since I counted about 30 messages in the last week that weren't helpful and furthermore, should have been sent to other list members directly.
On a note regarding messages to the BrailleNote list from Humanware staff in New Zealand, we are closing the doors at midday on Monday as a mark of respect to Dr Russell Smith, with the funeral being held later that afternoon. We will therefore, endeavour to answer as many queries that need answering as possible on Monday morning and messages will be sent to the BrailleNote list when time permits again on Tuesday as normal.
