Jonathan,
I have a few questions here and suspect you will be getting many more soon.
So did they fix the problem of large file downloads in the new unit? You
didn't mention a KeySoft System disk in the announcement, only the flash
disk. If temp files are still passed through the KeySoft system disk,
then I hope it was increased also.
Has anything been done about the various types of file corruption we have
seen discussed in so many messages on this list?
Will the new unit continue to require the numerous forms of reset that
seem to be the first cure for everything with the older units?
Has the variety of bit and sampling rates been increased in the newer
media player? I have found more than a few mp3 files that refused to play
in my old Voice Note due to unsupported rates.
Is jumping forward and back in streaming audio supported?
I assume the new host usb ports are powered but are there any limitations
on just what devices can be attached to them? For example, could I attach
an external cd-rom drive? How about cd-r or cd-rw drive for burning
disks? How about usb external hard drives?
How long will the new units run on a full charge? I assume the faster
processor could require more power so did the battery get up sized to
accommodate this and, if so, how much weight did this add?
I don't remember seeing any prices mentioned for the new units. Will the
prices for units and the HMAs and SMAs remain the same as for previous
units?
It appears your people were listening to some of our wish list items but I
hope the programmers were also listening to some of the bug issues we have
experienced. While unit stability is very important, file integrity is
paramount. Nobody wants to spend hours or days entering names, addresses,
and other types of personal data only to have it go up in smoke! Guess we
shall see as the new units get out the door.
