I was trying to emboss some stuff off the braillenote to a Braille Blazer on
Friday, and was at wits end. The Braillenote said it was sent, the Braille
Blazer said it was never received, and there didn't emboss anything.

So... of to figure out why.

I call Technical support at Pulsedata, or ooops Humanware, smile. And we go
over everything possible with the Braillenote.

Then, I call the folks at Freedom Scientific wondering if it is a Blazer
issue, and go through everything that is possible from that end.

And after resetting to factory settings, and trying other things. I sit
there with the tech guy, perplexed, until a light bulb turns on. Perhaps it
is the cable that is defective.

So tomorrow, we try again, and if the cable isn't the culprit, I shall vent
quite a bit of frustration, as There is at this point no other alternative.

And as I discovered you can buy a Parallel Printer Cable at Walmart for $12.
If you are in a fix.

So keep your fingers crossed that it was the challenge. And the parallel
cable is six years old, or maybe older, so...

It was very disheartening when talking to FS, to have them say, well it
isn't the Blazer it has to be "That other product". smile.

Which of course I told them, it wasn't as I already talked to their
technical support.

Sigh. competition is nice, but the hostility can be a bit hard to stomach
sometimes. Especially when trying to rule out reasons why a particular
piece of technology isn't working.

stare up the steps - we must step up the stairs.
