Hello List,
I have discovered another problem with my new, since November the first, BN
mPower (BT 18). I wanted to print an informational email for my husband.
His Canon BJC 2100 printer is USB, so this sounded really simple. Then I went
into the list of supported printers and there was no listing for Canon. We
thought perhaps standard would work, as it said it works with dot matrix
printers.
The USB cable which came with the mp did not have the proper plug-in piece for
the printer, but his cable worked at both ends. The port on the Canon was
square, with the top two corners cut off, so to speak, making it six-sided.
We're in business.
Well, not really. I open the email, do the dots 2-6 chord, type p, then s to
double check the set up, and it actually recognizes the printer, it says "usb
printer canon bjc-2100". I hit enter, thinking we'd exit and go print, but
that throws me back to standard. It says "change"? I type y, enter. It says
standard, computer braille is required. I type in canon bjc-2100 (numbers in
the lower portion of the cell, of course), but that doesn't work either.
So I just press p for print, and p, and the mp says it's printing, and then it
says printing complete, except that the printer is not printing.
I tried to use the serial cable which came with the mp, and the adapter, except
the port on my Epson is female, and so is the 25 adapter.
Now what are my options?
Thanks for any and all suggestions!
I really like this machine, but I can't seem to do anything with it that I
could do with the classic regarding peripherals.
That surely is not the intent of the manufacturers!
Kathy
