Dear KC,

I want to use my embosser with my Mpower. It only has a parallel and serial
port. The serial port won't work because the cable that goes with the MP is
a null modem cable and the embosser requires a rs232 cable. The embosser
also has a female plug.

That's why I must use the parallel port. The parallel port is the best to
use anyway. I don't want to pay--no, I WON'T pay $235.00 for the HumanWare
USB to parallel converter. When I learned Enabling Technologies has an
Infrared to Parallel converter for $62.00 plus $10.00 shipping, I ordered
one. I HOPE it will work with my embosser.

The "garden variety" USB to parallel converters in the regular stores won't
work with the BN.

: Hi Karen and Terri,
: excuse my ignorance. I'm just curous as to what use a new M-Power user
would make ofthe USB or Infrared cable? I understand one can be used with a
cellphone. From information gleaned from this List, Iu nderstand, if you
want to hook an emboseser to your BN, you might need a USB/paralel
connection.
