Yes, I've figured out how to use those fast first-letter concepts to
jump to fields in the address book. It's great. But it seems that I
can't find a record based on the criteria specified only in the Notes
field.

Jean, I can make a correction, and give you an easier way regarding
the address book. When you find the person's name you want, press the
letter N, and press enter. That will put you in the "notes" field,
and you can press enter to see what's in there. If there is not any
information, you'll still have to do the Backspace C, or Ctrl K to add
the information.
