Hello again KC,

Yes, you are right! The Edgeport converter is USB, that's true. You can spend your money as you like but that converter costs around $235 from Humanware and around $160 from other sources. One could easily buy a good prinbter for that price. I object to the interface costing as much as a good printer. This is why I hope to try the Infrared port adapter which is $72 with shipping from Enabling Technologies. I was hoping to receive it quickly but haven't seen it here yet.

I did write you a post on how I thought you could emboss from the serial port of your RB25. I'd be happy to send you that again if you think that would be helpful.

I too agree I'd rather emboss from a parallel port but the new changes in the M-power make us have to deal with the USB port somehow so we can again emboss from the parallel port. For me, this has been inconvenient. Perhaps I'll need to shell out those bucks but if I can avoid itk, I will do so. I think $72 is much better than $160 or $235. It is up to you though!

Jim, and Listers,
If I understand, the Edgeport converters Sarah mentioned were USB, not Infrared. However, I would think that, if using the cable to interface the M-Power and Enabling embosser, it would make sense to buy the cable from them. the only concern I would have is that my embosser is using parallel and I'd need something that will still work with that port.
