That does help some... we actually spent most of the day trying to connect the
BN to the network... the problem we r running into now is that we are using a
wired ethernet card and a BN running version 5.1 and trying to connect to a
network.... it's for a county school system and there is information the BN
asks for that we are unable to answer such as User name and password... because
these aren't required... For instance on the computer there is no service to
connect to you just hit enter on internet explorer and your on.... I'm thinking
it's time to upgrade possibly? Any less time consuming idea =-) Thanks to all
!

Subject: active sync help

Hi,
Try the following:
1. Open up active sync from the %desktop.
2. Go to file menu.
3. Go to connection settings.
4. Make sure the first checkbox is checked. It says "allow serial cable or
infrared connection to this computer."
4. Click OK or close.
On the BrailleNote, go to the utilities menu.
Choose miscelaneous.
The first item is active sync connection. Make sure this is on serial.
Then go to the utilities menu and choose connect to active sync.
You need to just setup your BrailleNote as a guest, so say no to creating a new
partnership.
You shouldn't need to install software on the BN for the ethernet compact card
either.
You need to setup a connection using the ethernet as the device to connect to
the Internet.
Use activesync to crpy and paste files between the computer and the BrailleNote.

Hope this helps,

Dan
