Is this only because of the GPS.  I originally though I had to do that but I
found an option in the time setting menu or Arizona time and selected it and
I don't have to change the time zone at all.

because that is the only way I can set the gps time correctly. I have to set

it to pacific standard zone without daylight savings time becausepacific 
standard time actually comes to us in April because we don't actually do 
anything to our clocks it is just how things work, but in order for the 
Braille Note to accurately measure the time and be the same as every other 
clock in the house we have to move to pacific standard time andleave the 
daylight savings time set to no.
