Sunday evening I was using my mpower, and I received the "battery is critical" message. So, I plugged my unit into the AC adapter, and I decided I would recalibrate it, because when I'd check the status, it had been telling me the unit needed to be recalibrated. This all began at around 11:50 PM eastern time.
So, I began the recalibration process. The unit spoke the "I'm talking until my battery goes flat..." message a few times, then it started making a strange noise... like a clicking or rattling noise... it didn't shut off or anything, so I did just a normal reset, and everything came up was fine and dandy. So, I went back to do a recalibration. This time it said "I'm discharging my battery before doing a complete charge". I went to bed, and awoke about 8 hours later and checked the status of it. It was still going through it discharging and charging phases. So, I let it run all day Sunday, and until about 4:30 PM today Monday. So far it had gone through 6 cycles of discharging and charging. It just kept discharging then charging again. And now when I check to see if the gauge is accurate, it still tells me it is inaccurate and the error is plus or minus 100 percent. I'm anxious to see if anyone has any idea what could be happening here. Why does my unit not even seem to be recalibrating? Or, do I just need to let it keep discharging and charging itself for like ever? HW staff, your feedback would be most appreciated here and now. I read the appendix where it said a service reset should only be performed under the guidance of staff, so I didn't want to try that route, for fear that things may be more screwed up than they are now. But I'm not sure if any reset techniques would help this or what... Thank you very much. Katie
