Actually that is an interesting question. In the days when we use nicolle cad batteries the batteries lasted longer if you discharged them. However with the new Nicolle metal hydride batteries and lithium that isn't true any longer. In fact you should charge them more often than less often. It all depends on what kind are in the unit.
