You can either do a search-find command for public domain, or scan down. I don't know if you are using your pc or the BN, but there is a public domain listing.

Ok: But how do I enter public domain? Or how do I know if it is
not coppyrighted? Please Write back.

Jose, look in the Public Domain section. There are a few books
there, and you don't need your password or anything. When you see a book you want, press Enter. You'll be asked where you want the book downloaded. Put it in the folder of your choice. I haven't looked at the Fublic Domain site, so I don't know what is there. They are usually books that do not any longer have a copyright. Good luck.

Jose:

It sounds like your attempting to open a copyrighted book. When
you perform
a search on the site most if not all of the books that come up
ARE
copyrighted. If you're being asked for a password when either
downloading or
attempting to open books, it means that the book you're
attempting to order
IS COPYRIGHTED. In order to open or download such a book, you
must purchase
a bookshare membership.

The directions for purchasing a bookshare membership are on the
bookshare
site. It is a two step process. First, you must prove
eligibility. You
can either do this through a medical form filled out by your
physician, or
through membership in one of the state talking book libraries.
After your
membership is approved, then you pay $50 for the first year's
membership fee
and a $25 setup charge. Each year after that is $50.

Without being a member, you can't download very many of the
bookshare books.

hth
Jeff
