Hi folks,

I was working with a client today who wanted to set up a bluetooth connection in order to access ActiveSync with the PK. We were ultimately unsuccessful, though we came very very close to achieving our goal. Here's what happened.

The bluetooth had already been installed to the pc, and I believe that might be where the problem exists. The bluetooth had been paired from the pc, not the PK. Anyhow, we did make sure to set the misc options in the utilities menu to bluetooth. We ensured that Bluetooth was turned on from the connectivity menu. The bluetooth device was found, and it showed that activesync was "active". However, when we went into utilities and chose connect to activesync, and simultaneously chose get connected from the pc, we were unable to get connected. We ensured that the comm port was the same in both the bluetooth settings and in activesync. Incidentally, that was comm7 on a laptop ... should that matter? In speaking with humanware tech support, they leaned towards the theory that since the bluetooth had been paired from the pc, we needed to either disable bluetooth from the pc, or possibly reinstall the software. Unfortunately, we didn't have the software on hand.

So, what do you all think? What would be the next step to take? I believe this is a broadcomm bluetooth kit, which begs another question ... does it matter what bluetooth receiver you use?

Thanks everyone,
Scott
