You need to reset your classic unit while the ambicom card is in the machine. It may recognize it then, no guarantee though! This would be especially true if you have an intermintent ambicom card.

Your card should work just fine. I have used mine on the classic as well as the MPower and the same goes for my wife. I think the Ambicom cards which don't work are a much older version. We got our wifi cards back in about February of this year.
