Just as a point of clarity, you always, always have to have a screen reader (JAWS or Window-Eyes or HAL or whatever) to run a Braille display with a computer. The screen reader tells the computer what information to send to the Braille display. You cannot run a Braille display, whether BrailleNote or PowerBraille or whatever, unless you have screen reading software installed on the computer.

I use my BrailleNote with my laptop. I am pretty sure you have to have JAWS or Window Eyes. There is a driver for both on the disk you received with the BrailleNote. Install the driver, then under the options menu, go to Braille display and then add. Select the BrailleNote. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jess Fox" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 07, 2005 10:32 AM Subject: [Braillenote] BrailleNote used as a brailleNote used in conjunctionwith a laptop and the right laptop for me. My name is Jess Fox and I have written to this list before in regards to my BrailleNote. I wanted to know if any one is using the BrailleNote's Braille display for their laptop? How did you configure the BrailleNote to act as a Braille display for the laptop? Is there a specific kind of Laptop that works best with the BrailleNote? ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
