Didn't it say in the manual about Active Sinc that you shouldn't
uninstall it but rather, install over the existing copy on the PC?
Trust me, I've never used it, but that could be the source of your
problem.
Just guessing.

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Active Sync question
This does not appear to be the case as I have just done a reset j-k-l
as I have a BrailleNote QT and am still getting the "Name Your Device
Dialog" with the word BrailleNote filled in in the "Device Name"
edit-box when I bring up ActiveSync for the first time. If I hit enter
or space on the "Next" button I am taken to the "Device Name Not
Unique" dialog as I mentioned in my first post. In this dialog the
message "This device name is already in use.You must enter a different
name for your mobile device." And there is an OK button. It seems to
me that in fact ActiveSync is storing some sort of information about
BrailleNote which is not getting deleted. I have uninstalled and
installed ActiveSync twice now.
Also, when the device is not connected the "Delete Partnership" option
in the "File" menu is disabled.
