Hi Cathy; The reason there are two volumes is so you can adjust them separately so you can put one or the other in the background. For example, if you want to listen to music while using speech in, say, the word processor, you could turn the media player down and still hear the speech and have the music in the background. The thing is though, you can't have these two things going if you just upgraded your regular bn to the new 6.1 software. It's only available in the mPower and the Pk, at least I think I am correct about how this works. I think you can't have two things going on the regular bn even with the new software because the motherboard or something can't handle it.
